Our First Year in Photos Year Two Begins Maysville Uncorked Our First Harvest Summer 2006 |

| The second year is beginning on schedule. The gift shop building arrived in February and will open on weekends beginning in July. Another 400 plants were purchased (200 Grosso and 200 Munstead) to add to our existing field. | ||

| Transplanting the 400 plugs again took place as a family affair on May 7th. | ||
|
|
|
|
| Because of the time of year, the plants were set immediately outside and now await planting directly into the field. | ||
|
|
|
|
| The plants in the field are growing and already setting bloom. The first winter was hard on the plants, and several plants succumbed to root rot as the last picture depicts. Several of our new plants will be used to replace damaged ones from the winter. | ||
|
|
The Department of Agriculture
and county extension agent are working on a solution to prevent future
damage to the plants. This may set us back on our schedule to plant our newest field. |
