The field getting ready to bloom made for beautiful pictures!

Since we need to harvest at bud time, we can only imagine how beautiful the fields would be in full bloom.

The new honey bee hives were full of activity as the fields were coming into bloom.

Our first bundle!  As we cut the stems, they were bundled in the field and placed upon the plants to be gathered by the kids in the wheelbarrow.

The bundles were moved to the drying barn next to the gift shop--in our case, the garage--where they were hung to dry.
Fresh lavender gave us the opportunity to create lavender wands, groomed bundles, and fresh flower arrangements.  We found the grooming to be quite time consuming, but the time was well worth the effort after seeing the final result.

Our first bundle is displayed in one of our lavender vases next to our store sign.  These were all taken to our first public appearance at the wine festival, Maysville Uncorked, on June 10, 2006.
